## cryptography

Climaxis uses the Python `cryptography` package for Ed25519 public-key
verification of signed license files and for no other product calculation.
The package is made available under either the Apache License 2.0 or the
3-Clause BSD License, at the user's choice. Project and license information:

## Köppen-Geiger climate-classification data

Climaxis bundles the official 0.1-degree majority-resampled 1991-2020 layer
from **Beck et al., High-resolution (1 km) Köppen-Geiger maps for 1901-2099
based on constrained CMIP6 projections**, Scientific Data 10, 724 (2023),
with the dataset's January 2026 correction. The distributed layer was extracted
from the authors' archive and renamed for stable application packaging; its
classification values were not modified.

Dataset DOI: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41597-023-02549-6

Dataset record: https://figshare.com/articles/dataset/21789074

The data is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International
license (CC BY 4.0): https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Climaxis uses this layer only as a clearly labelled geographic proxy for an
ASHRAE moisture suffix. It is not an official ASHRAE station database or an
official station-zone designation.

## UTCI operational approximation

`Climaxis/core/outdoor_comfort.py` contains NumPy adaptations of the UTCI
sixth-order operational approximation and the SolarCal standing/sitting
projected-area lookup tables distributed by **pythermalcomfort 4.4.2**.
pythermalcomfort is Copyright (c) 2019 Federico Tartarini and is licensed
under the MIT License.

The polynomial is based on the COST Action 730 UTCI reference implementation
by Peter Bröde and collaborators. Climaxis retains the scientific attribution
and independently documents the EPW radiation assumptions used to estimate
mean radiant temperature. The projected-area tables are used only by the
optional solar-position-aware screening scenario; no building or vegetation
shading geometry is inferred.

## PsychroLib reference implementation

Climaxis/core/_psychrolib_ref.py contains PsychroLib 2.5.0 and is used as
a packaged scientific reference and regression implementation. PsychroLib is
Copyright (c) 2018-2020 The PsychroLib Contributors and is licensed under the
MIT License.

The MIT terms below apply to both MIT-licensed components.
